Start 2014 off with a bang!

image via
Happy New Years Eve, guys! So lets talk goals, we've all seen those photos on pinterest, right? You know, the gym in december and then in January.. We've all done it, made a goal that was way above and beyond and didn't even take one action step that day to make it happen. I thought I'd give a few tips on goal setting and helping you reach them.

Making the simplistic.
// Make sure your goal is tangible. I'm not saying don't dream big, you must do that! But your goal needs to be simple. If It's to have a rockin' bod then set the goal that day to do as little as 10 minuets of cardio that day. Don't say "I'm going to work out every single day for 3 hours for the next 6 months." Chances are, you won't do it! [If you do, please give me your secrets ;)] Realistically though, it probably wont happen, and thats okay! If you miss a day, acknowledge it and be okay with yourself. If you cheat and have a piece of that chocolate cake, acknowledge that too and be okay with it. Rather than beating yourself up. This goes for income as well. Say you make a goal, "I want to make $100,000.00 each month, month after month.. extra from what i'm making now." Again, I know I'm not there but if you are, please give me your secrets! Try setting the goal "I want to make an extra $3,000.00 from what I'm making now." That is much more tangible and it is high enough that it gets you excited! Once you reach that, each month make the goal a little higher! Figure out exactly what you'll do with the money and guys, It's scary how fast that money will come in!

Don't compare yourself to others
// It's great to have mentors, in fact you need those people. You want someone in your life that supports you and that teaches you. You need to make sure that you're not comparing yourself to others though. Don't compare your beginning to someone else's middle. It's plain and simple only compete with yourself.

Embrace your desires
// Do something that genuinely makes you happy. Start up cooking, dancing, painting, plant a garden. Anything that will make you happy and feel fulfilled. Take some time to yourself and listen to you. When you're alone with yourself you learn a lot about you.

// Seriously guys, I can not stress ENOUGH about gratitude. It is the most important thing! Gratitude can be a whole post by itself but I'll try and keep it short and simple. In everything you do, you must feel gratitude. I know It's sometimes hard, I have to constantly train my brain to feel gratitude and find the gold in everything but guys, when you do, things change. I mean really really change. Say you want to be making $20,000.00 a month. You say "When I get that then I'll be happy" that saying "When I'm there, then I'll be happy" is the absolutely biggest, nastiest most disgusting lie you could ever tell yourself. You need to be happy now. I'm not saying if you don't find the gratitude you can't have the $20,000.00 because you can. But guess what, you won't be happy. You need to be genuinely happy now.

I'm hoping these helped! If you have any questions feel free to e-mail here.
Happy Happy Happy New Year!

Tribal Print

Holy Grail Leggings Free People // Similar Black Top // Urban Outfitters Infinity Scarf

I have to say, I'm still diggin' tribal prints. I know they've been around for quite some time and the trend is starting to fade, but honestly, I'm still loving these leggings. Especially for this holiday season, I think they're the perfect item to "dazzle" up a boring outfit. They've been something I've relied on for the past couple years. Tribal leggings, you never let me down.

1Dress.co.uk Collaboration

When I was first introduced to 1dress.co.uk I was extremely excited, and was wishing I would of known about them when I was in high school! They have such a large variety of dresses and they have a endless choices for all shapes and sizes! Below I picked a few very classy and trendy dresses that I think would be great for prom or any special occasion.

The Modern Girl // I think the silhouette of this dress is absolutely stunning, I think it has great structure for every body type.

The Sleek Girl // This dress is very body hugging and is that WOW dress! It takes a very daring person to wear it and pull it off!

The Glamour Girl // I defiantly think many people could pull this off, it has a very high neckline but the dress still screams sexy!

The Chic Girl // With the little cut out this dress is extremely trendy and chic, for that girl is always on top of fashion trends I think this would be the perfect dress for her!

The Glitzy Girl // If you want to really stand out at your prom or special occasion then this dress is absolutely perfect for you! I love that it's trendy but still very sophisticated! It's a trend that will last a long time!

Well girls, I don't think it's ever too early to start prom dress shopping! Despite of how much we all adore that little black dress I think some picks above are very modern and chic, encourage yourself to "branch out" a bit and go for something glam! When I first stumbled upon 1dress.co.uk I really appreciated the fact that all dresses are reasonably priced, thats really hard to find.
Make sure you use the coupon code xq10usdoff this will save you $10.00 off of any dress over $120.00
1dress.co.uk has great taste, and they have taste for everyone. I've always been hesitant about buying something online but their choices are endless, dresses that you can't find anywhere else and they're all cheap prom dresses! . Even though the have amazing prom dresses you can find almost anything there. Since I'm not in high school anymore I was skeptical when I was first browsing the site but I was pleasantly surprised that they have dresses for every occasion. Another great thing is that they deliver to over 200 countries, that's extremely rare!
So if you're wanting a traditional little black dress or if you're going for something bright and trendy 1dress.co.uk has it for you, again the prices are extremely reasonable and they have a variety of silhouettes for every different body type and for every unique taste.
Again, remember to use the coupon code xq10usdoff and save yourself $10.00 off of any dress that is over $120.00!

I will defiantly be using them when I have another big event to attend!

this post is sponsored but opinions are all 100% mine.

Holiday Uniform

Holy Snow! We've had quite the snow fall here the last week, I don't think we have to worry about not having a white Christmas! I always make a good investment on a coat. I have a few that I rely on for an entire outfit, and this is one. Living in Michigan it doesn't usually matter what you're wearing under your coat because no one ever sees it! We went out to the Trans Siberian Orchestra last night and I spent about an hour "trying to find something to wear" and my outfit never saw light, but I did style everything around my jacket!
Happy Holidays!

Favorite Brushes

Makeup brushes seem to be my most favorite beauty item to buy. I think you can have a great foundation but if you don't have the right kind of applicator it doesn't seem to look as pretty and flawless as it could.

I've been using the Real Techniques brushes for quite a while now and they are my absolute favorite! They're very affordable, soft, easy to clean and great quality, I'd recommend them to anyone!
My favorites are the Buffing Brush and Blush Brush the application is flawless with the Buffing Brush, it really gives you a great finish with powder or liquid foundation. You can purchase them at almost any department store, I believe I bought mine target!

november picks

Every month I find new "picks" of things I've really been diggin' lately! Not to sure why but this year I've been loving everything neutral. I usually go for things that have a lot of sparkle and shine but this year I feel my style has really toned down a lot. Instead of going after that sparkly neon tote bag I find myself spending a little extra on a nice black classic.. Any others the same?

1. The Expert Lip Color - Blood Roses // 2. Ossimo Womens Tunic Top - Snow White L // 3. Karen Walker The Number One Sunglasses // 4. Frosted Antlers // 5. Tinley Road Alexandra Winged Tote // 6. Button-up Cropped Shirt

winter Inspiration

Even though I adore the glitz and glamor of the Holiday Season I have a true love for more of the natural feeling of the holidays as well. I posted some holiday decor that I've been loving here but I really enjoy this more "down to earth" feeling.

accessorized statement

Even though my taste is quite calm and neutral I always love to use one accessory to "doll" up an outfit. When I purchased this scarf from Jb & Me it became my statement piece to every article of clothing that I owned.. This Fall It has defiantly been my go-to piece, wearing it with laid back leggings and a slouchy tee to a more sophisticated look with a nice jacket and sleek boots.

Today marks the day of this boy's 27th birthday. I'm so grateful to have him in my life, he's the most genuine and selfless person I know. Even on his birthday he's still thinking of others and making sure they're happy. Thats pretty amazing to me. Thank you God for blessing me with this awesome man.

Home Inspiration

Now that Matt and I live together I've been on a decorating frenzy! It's been interesting combining our style but it has been great! I'm extremely thankful that we generally like the same things. I love that every photo here is clean and modern but has a little bit of character to it.
